When Snacker.News launched in 2015, the ambition was to be the Fleet Street tabloid of snacks. A real trade press for an industry that deserved one, with the appetite for scandal that the beat clearly warranted. We pursued that ambition for nine years.

A legal dispute took us offline for all of 2025. We have emerged from that period with refined editorial standards and a recalibrated mission. Going forward, Snacker.News aspires to be the TMZ of snacks: faster, lighter, less litigious, still committed to the beat.

Food companies are becoming IP companies. The snack aisle is no longer a category, it is a platform: brands launch flavors the way studios launch franchises, and the most valuable assets in the consumer-packaged-goods sector are increasingly indistinguishable from media properties. Whoever owns the next Dorito owns a piece of the cultural map.

But the case for snacks is older than the business case. A snack is a break. It is one of the few legitimate pauses left in a working day, and capitalism has spent the last two decades trying to monetize, optimize, and eliminate the rest of them. Coverage of this industry is, in a small way, coverage of the last defensible interruption. We think that matters.
